Tutti Frutti Froyo Delight

These cups are the size of my head
Although I'm a fairly new fan of frozen yogurt, one of the things that seemed to be lacking are soft serve frozen yogurts with natural tasting flavors. So when Angela Seto of Tutti Frutti invited me to try what they had to offer, how was a bovine to say no?

I had heard their praises sung repeatedly by @FoodKarmaBlog, who is a FroYo fanatic, as testimony by her blog post. Although it had opened several months earlier, I'd never ventured into the space. Although it appears to be a teeny, tiny store if you judge it by the street level entrance, once you descend into the basement, it opens up into a large, modern, and fun space.

This looks tasty!
Tutti Frutti is set up to be self serve, with two different sizes of cups to choose from. If all the dispensers on all of the machines they had were filled, they would have the capacity to offer 21 different flavors. Flavors range from family friendly Death By Chocolate and Strawberry Field, to the more exotic Lychee and Green Tea. You can also choose from an array of toppings from chocolate, fruit, candies and syrups. The only trick is not to overfill your cup as they charge by weight.

Only 3 flavors for moo!
On that day, we opted to try the Death By Chocolate, Royal Red Velvet, Strawberry Field, Pomegranate, and Green Tea. The Death by Chocolate had a rich, dark chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. Royal Red Velvet had a very mild cocoa and cake flavor. Meanwhile, Strawberry Field had a very natural strawberry taste that was not over whelming.  Green Tea was not grassy or overly sweet tasting like the Green Tea Latte's found at Starbucks. Lastly, Pomegranate started off slightly sweet but ended on a mildly tart note.

Overall, I enjoyed the natural tastes of the frozen yogurt flavors they had to offer, but wished that they offered more basic flavors for those who like classic vanilla and chocolate, or perhaps pure fruit flavors such as peach. But I would definitely recommend Tutti Frutti to anyone looking for a wide variety of frozen yogurt with more natural tasting flavors.
