Eat Alberta: Your Real Food Survival Guide

Like minded people, curious newbies and hard core foodies alike will be getting together April 14th, 2012 at NAIT for this year’s Eat Alberta hands on food conference. In it’s second year, it’s an opportunity for those with just a passing interest to those who want to learn everything they can about local food to get together, experience, share and taste!

Some of this year’s conferences hands on sessions include making:
•    Sausages
•    Cheese
•    Bread
•    Pasta
•    French Macarons
•    Indigenous food and more!

The best part? You take home what you make!

Tasting sessions include:
•    Fruit wine
•    Honey
•    Cheese
•    Beer

There will also be an opening keynote session by Danny and Shannon Ruzicka from Nature’s Green Acres Farms discussing the importance of read food to the survival of our planet and Life on the Back 40.

Calgary’s own infamous Knife Nerd, Kevin Kent, will be presenting two sessions this year and Martin Orsis will be presenting sessions on foraging for wild food.

Schedule:
•    8:30am to 5pm
•    Continental Breakfast followed by the morning Key Note
•    Two morning break out sessions from 14 choices
•    A delicious lunch prepared by NAIT culinary students
•    The EAT ALBERTA traditional “Tastes of Alberta” Tasting boards
•    Closing panel followed by a wine down
