Roast Porchetta Sandwich |
Located in Olympic Plaza,
Carne sells everything that is meatolicious, or as they dub it “Street Meat”. On this particular day, we go with a
porcine theme and order their roast
porchetta sandwich, bacon mac, and maple bacon
crème brulee.
The roast
porchetta sandwich is substantial, filled with loads of tender, juicy, fatty, porcine goodness in the form of heritage
berkshire pork belly, and is ensconced in a crispy ciabatta bun. The mound of meat has a hint of salty deliciousness and bits of crispy pig skin, I only wish there were more moolicious skin. The apple slaw complements the richness of the sandwich as it is refreshing, light, and bright tasting.

Maple Bacon Creme Brulee |
The bacon mac is gooey and creamy with nary macaroni missed by the bechemal sauce. The only thing missing is more bacon, as I found the bacon mac to be light on its piggy namesake. Lastly the maple bacon
crème brulee is topped with the perfect sugar crust that cracks easily when prodded with a spoon. It is smooth, light, and flecked with small bits of bacon, and a maple taste that is mild and does not over power.
If you are a fan of
porcine delights, then give
Carne a visit.
