$1,000 Reward Offered for Return of Beloved Stuffed Toy Dog

On Saturday, September 28 around 2:00pm, a beloved stuffed toy dog, named Winston von Bark, was lost on the corner of Governor Nicholls and French Market Place in the French Quarter area of New Orleans. Winston is brown, approximately 11” tall, wearing a black t-shirt with the words “Ibiza Rocks”, a red bone collar and blue and red plaid shorts with a yellow waistband. Winston fell out of his owners’ backpack and witnesses reported seeing an adult male pick Winston up and walk away with him.

Lindsey Concannon Birch, a native of McComb, Mississippi, USA, and Stuart Birch, a native of London, United Kingdom, first met in London when Lindsey moved there to study at the BPP Law School a decade ago. They have owned the stuffed toy dog, Winston von Bark, for 9 years of their relationship and over the years, he has become a valued and important member of their family. He was even part of their wedding and has become their surrogate child, bringing them much comfort and joy in their daily lives, and keeping them company when they must travel apart from one another.

Recently, Mr. Birch was diagnosed with cancer and Winston's presence was a great comfort to Mr. Birch as he underwent surgery and follow up treatments in London, United Kingdom, while his wife, Ms. Concannon Birch had to stay behind in McComb, Mississippi, USA. Ms. Concannon Birch has been distraught since Winston’s disappearance and desperately would like whomever picked him up to return him as she says “Winston is a symbol of our marriage. He means more to us than our wedding rings. We can't imagine our lives without him.”
